We are no longer accepting used books.

The decision to discontinue our used book sales was not an easy one.  For many years we have run the sales at a significant loss as an outreach program for the community.  The cost of staff time, advertising, off-site storage, moving the books, and their eventual disposal is an aspect of the event that has been under consideration for some time.  The Atheneum relies on the generosity of financial donations from friends like you for 75% of our operating budget, and it is with this in mind that we have chosen to make the fiscally responsible decision to end the sales.

We will continue to offer deaccessioned titles from the Atheneum’s collection on shelves located inside our main entrance and in the foyer of the Weezie Library.

Thank you for participating in our sales in the past, we appreciate you thinking of us.
