Request and Renew

Request Library Materials

Using the Atheneum’s online catalog, you may request that circulating items in the CLAMS network be delivered to the Atheneum location for pick-up. You may also make requests through a library staff member. All requests for library materials are on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. Log in to My Account to make requests, cancel requests or change the selected pick-up location.

Renew Library Materials

As long as your account is in good standing, you may renew eligible materials online or in person. If a circulating item has not been requested by another borrower, you may renew it once. Items that have not been requested by another borrower and have not exceeded the maximum number of renewals become eligible for renewal two days into the current loan period.

To renew items online:

  • Log in to your CLAMS Account .
  • Click on the “Items currently checked out” link to view the materials you have checked out.
  • Select the materials you want to renew by checking the boxes in the renew column.
  • Click the Renew Selected button. If you want to renew everything, click the Renew All button.

If you cannot renew items, a message will appear on the screen. If you are successful, a new due date will appear in the Status column. Always check the Status column for information on the success or failure of your renewal. Some items, including those that are overdue, may not be renewable online.

To renew items over the phone, call 508-228-1110, x101 or 117. You must have your library card number with you when you call. Some items may not be renewable if they are overdue, or if the loaning library requires their return.
