Children’s Summer Reading Program
The Atheneum Children’s Summer Reading Program runs from June 22 to August 24. This year’s theme is “One World, Many Stories, “Registration will be held from 2 – 6 p.m. on June 22 in the gallery. Readers ages preschool – Grade 6 will receive a book bag, reading passport and other small prizes, to begin their summer reading journey.
This FREE program runs for 9 weeks. Summer Readers keep track of the books they have read and will receive points and prizes at the end of the summer, based on how many book they have read. In addition there will be programs for children and families all through the summer that incorporate this year’s international theme. Please check the calendar for

Teen Summer Reading Program
Teen Summer readers in Grades 7 through 12 register and record their reading time online. This FREE program runs for 9 weeks, ending on August 24th.
Adult Summer Reading Program
Adults of all ages are invited to participate in the Atheneum’s Adult Summer Reading program, which has theme of “Novel Destinations” this year. The circulation department has selected a wide variety of books with an international theme. Stop by the desk to get a reading list or peruse some choices online.
Each week the staff will create a book display based on a country. And, on August 29th don’t miss Terry Pommett’s multi-media travelogue, “Chinatowns,” full of images and video from his trip to China.
