Newsbank provides Atheneum library cardholders online access to issues of the Nantucket Independent, The Cape  Cod Times, well as several regional and national magazines. Entries are full text articles and can be searched on a  variety of criteria, including date, key words or all the text.
Moreover, the Atheneum offers “America’s Genealogy Bank” through the same link. This separate database allows users to search for their ancestors in 300 different historic newspapers, books, military records, government documents, and pamphlets. Patrons can narrow their search by state to find records such as: obituaries, birth & marriage notices; pension records and etc.
