New York City Ballet
Teresa ReichlenÂ was born in Clifton, Virginia. At the age of 10 she began studying ballet at the Russell School of Ballet, continuing at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet in 1999. In October 2000, Ms. Reichlen became an apprentice with NYCB, and in October 2001 she joined the Company as a member of the Corps de Ballet, in January 2005 was promoted to Soloist and in October 2009 to Principal Dancer.
Since joining the Company Ms. Reichlen has been featured in works by George Balanchine including Agon, Apollo,Â Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Concerto Barocco, CoppĂ©lia, Episodes, Firebird, The Four Temperaments, George Balanchine’s The Nutcrackerâ„˘, â€śDiamonds” and “Rubies” fromÂ Jewels, Ivesiana,Â Monumentum pro Gesualdo, Orpheus, Prodigal Son,Â Raymonda Variations,Â Serenade,Â Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2,Â Union Jack, Western SymphonyÂ andÂ Who Cares?; Ulysses Doveâ€™sÂ Red Angels; Peter Martinsâ€™Â Barber Violin Concerto, The Chairman Dances, Fearful Symmetries, NaĂŻve and Sentimental Music,Â River of Light,Â The Sleeping Beauty,Â Swan LakeÂ andÂ Thou Swell; Jerome Robbinsâ€™Â Antique Epigraphs, The Cage, Fanfare,Â The Four Seasons,The Goldberg VariationsÂ andÂ MovesÂ and Christopher Wheeldonâ€™sÂ After The Rain, DGV: Danse a Grande Vitesse, Les CarillonsÂ andÂ Polyponia.Â Â In addition she has originated roles in Mauro Bigonzetti’sÂ Luce Nascosta, Peter MartinsÂ Bal de Couture,Â Benjamin Millepiedâ€™sÂ PlainspokenÂ and Justin Peckâ€™sÂ Year of the Rabbit. Ms. Reichlen was the Janice Levin Dancer Honoree for 2004-2005.
