In 2010 the Nantucket Atheneum Dance Festival brings together celebrated star dancers from the American Ballet Theatre and the New York City Ballet.

Benjamin Millepied, festival artistic director and a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, has selected 16 star dancers who will perform a program of contemporary and classical ballet.

Tickets will be on sale beginning July 1st online at or at the Nantucket Atheneum, 1 India Street, on the second floor.

Other festival events include:

• A special, one hour Program for Children, for ages 5 and up, on July 28th. The performance will feature excerpts from Polyphonia, Romeo & Juliet Balcony Pas de Deux and Tschaikovsky Pas de Deux, as well as commentary from artistic director Benjamin Millepied.
• A Lecture/demonstration presented by Millepied and company dancers , on July 29, who will discuss the dance pieces to be performed.
• Two dance films will be screened at the Atheneum.
• And two Youth Master Ballet Classes* on July 31 which will be taught by a dance company performer.
